Multiple Intelligence Activities:
Visual-Spacial - Students will take photos to document their Service Learning at the Senior Dining Center. They will upload at least one photo to our shared drive and post a reflective comment on their experience. They will then compile a video or slide show from the shared drive reflection documenting their experience to share with the school via a Bear TV plug.
Logical-Mathematical - Students will calculate caloric values, body mass index and percent fat decrease among varying food labels.
Interpersonal - Cooperative Learning
Verbal-Linguistic - Spanish students write their own short poem and then read them out loud in class and to the seniors at the dining center. Also, students will have an opportunity to write an essay (choice task assignment) that discusses how failure of one body system affects a person's overall health.
Musical - students will listen to Spanish food songs and then have a chance to create their own song.
Intrapersonal - students discuss action plans for avoiding stereotypes associated with cultural food dishes.
Bodily-Kinesthetic - students will serve hot nutrition lunches to the Seniors. They will also have a chance to perform their song or poem during the luncheon.
