It is not enough to eat a nutritious diet in moderation; we must also enjoy our food. We must celebrate our food! And what better way to express our joy of food than through the arts? In Spanish class, students will analyze the poem, Oda al Tomate by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. The poem serves as an ode to the tomato. Students will then create their own ode to a healthy food that they love.
This art activity will help students answer the first essential question: how can we enjoy food, eat moderately, and balance our nutrition at the same time?
